It is becoming more and more apparent that the benefits of whole foods are something we should be incorporating in our daily eating habits. The National Organic Program (NOP) develops, implements, and administers national production, handling, and labeling standards for organic agricultural products. They are at the forefront of making sure all those products that say “organic” meet all the requirements from the FDA to obtain that label.

Anyone who doesn’t think organic food doesn’t taste better just needs to remember their childhood. At some point all of us have enjoyed a home cooked meal from meat and vegetables either grown right outside the window or on a neighbor or friend’s farm. You can taste the difference. My friends make fun of the fact that my mother, when I was younger, used to grind her own wheat to make homemade bread. They may laugh, but I have yet to eat a loaf of bread as delicious as my mother’s homemade whole wheat bread.
