After a masseuse found 28-year-old Heath Ledger unresponsive in his apartment in New York, she used his cell phone to call his friend, actress Mary Kate Olson, instead of calling 911. Police say that neither woman called 911 for at least 20 minutes. Medical specialists and the police say it’s not only important to call 911 immediately in situations like this, but it can be illegal to wait. The women’s only explanation for waiting was that they weren’t sure about what to do. Ledger was taking medication for Walking Pneumonia, and anti-anxiety drugs like Xanax and Valium as well as sleeping pills were found in his room. Investigators say there were no illegal drugs found in his room. As of January 24, there have been no official announcements about his cause of death, and preliminary results have been inconclusive. However, investigators have not ruled out any possible causes of his death. If you find someone unresponsive, you should call 911 immediately. People can slip into comas after taking medications or suffering from an illness, and it is very important to get medical help as soon as possible. Ledger has a two-year-old daughter named Matilda with ex-fiance Michelle Williams. Email This Post
