Car insurance can get pretty pricey. This is especially true if a person has a bad driving record and has a few points and tickets under their belt. I had an unpaid ticket in the state of Massachusetts and it substantially raised my monthly insurance bill. As if that wasn’t bad enough, I got another ticket soon after which boosted the bill again! The worse part about not having car insurance is the litigation you may face if you get in an accident. Law suits are scary, especially when you are at fault. Even if you aren’t at fault, if you don’t have insurance, you’ll have to pay.

To avoid pricey litigation, make sure to have insurance. Also, it helps when you look for insurance rate breaks. For example, I used to pay a little less because I am a student and female, but with my tickets my insurance is now about average. I guess what I have learned from all of this is that it really does pay to slow down!
