Some bioidentical hormones also advertise that they decrease the effects of aging and help prevent some diseases, but many health scientists remain skeptical. Fosamax is prescribed to treat and prevent osteoporosis, which is a condition in which bone density begins to decrease and bones become increasingly fragile. In serious cases of osteoporosis, bones can fracture with little or no trauma. However, the manufacturers also released a warning to doctors in 1996 indicating the seriousness of side effects caused by Fosamax, specifically the esophageal complications it caused. People have been taking fish oil supplements for years because of its powerful omega 3 benefits, which include reducing the risk of heart attack, heart arrhythmia, stroke, cardiovascular disease, and high blood pressure. |
