People have been taking fish oil supplements for years because of its powerful omega 3 benefits, which include reducing the risk of heart attack, heart arrhythmia, stroke, cardiovascular disease, and high blood pressure. Fish oils are the fats found in fish, especially fish like sardines, salmon, and tuna that live in cold water.
However, there are studies that show that fish oil can be very harmful to certain people. Some harmful side effects include increasing strain on the heart and altering the immune system. Researchers believe that many more studies need to be conducted before all the side effects of fish oil can be determined.
For now, medical specialists recommend talking to your doctor before taking fish oil or any other over the counter supplement or medication. Your doctor can help you determine the risks and weigh the benefits before you take the medication.

01|Mar|2010 1My husband died of a massive heart attack after taking Natrol fish oil .
I’m interested in any information you have concerning this subject as I have always instinctively felt that the fish oil could have been a contributing factor.
Yours truly, Lynda Haskins
