Although 99 percent of police officers are great upholders of the law and work hard to protect the rest of us, police brutality does occur. In fact, police brutality happens every day.

Some don’t know if it’s because of poor training, too much stress, or just downright aggressive, violent tendencies. Either way, victims of police brutality suffer physical and emotional injury, and sometimes it takes years of financial strain and therapy to overcome the brutalization. And all too often, victims die.

We hear about brutality on the news all the time…people who were shot several times even though they weren’t holding a weapon. Although police brutality is something our nation has faced for years, the behavior really began coming to light after Rodney King was beaten by police.

Bad officers brutalize people verbally and physically, with loud, terrifying yelling and tasers, guns and fists. People report being choked, punched, tasered, and verbally assaulted for no reason. But don’t take their word for it…watch these recent videos and decide for yourself.

Warning: these videos are violent and may not be suitable for younger viewers.

1. In this video, a police officer loses his temper with female driver.

Although we don’t see the reason the officer pulls the woman over, there is obviously no reason for his aggressive, violent, and brutal behavior. If you listen closely, the woman is telling him that she needs to get her seatbelt off before she can get out, but instead of letting her do that, the officer continues to yell at her and pull on her arm. He then forces her to lie down next to what looks like a busy highway.

2. Police run over man they are trying to catch in this video.

This was highly publicized and police received a lot of negative attention from the media and from people who saw the video. The officer claimed the truck slid in the mud, but everyone who saw it were very skeptical. It appears the officer meant to hit and run over the man.

3. Police taser a man at UCLA for not having student ID.

This was also highly publicized by the media, and this is certainly not the first incident of its kind. Many people have been tasered for apparently little or no reason, and the incident left them physically and emotionally scarred. This student was leaving the library when police came up behind him and told him to leave…and after he told them he was leaving, they tasered him in front of dozens of witnesses. If you listen closely, you can hear other students asking for police badge numbers and identification. The students were obviously upset about the incident and felt helpless. Please watch at your discretion; the video is disturbing and there might be a swear word or two.
