Unfortunately we do not all have the time to manage our own market portfolios, which is why we simply deposit money to a hedge fund or something like that. However, it may be fun to use a little bit of your money to invest in specific companies you like. For instance, I keep about $1000 of my own money in an E-Trade account to move around for fun. I am yet to make any money, especially recently, but it simply makes the stock market a lot more interesting when you have a personal interest.
