Eliot Spitzer has a team of the best attorneys in New York. He started with Michele Hirshman, the head of the sector of the U.S. Attorney’s Office that was investigating whether Spitzer broke the law. She has since switched over to become Spitzer’s leading defense attorney.

He also hired Mark Pomerantz, who headed the Attorney’s Office criminal division. Both attorneys are partners at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, and they specialize in swaying prosecutors to drop or reduce charges.

Last but not certainly not least, Theodore Wells, defense attorney for Lewis ‘Scooter’ Libby, is also part of the team.

Those in charge of investigating and possibly prosecuting Spitzer’s case are Daniel Stein, Rita Glavin, and Boyd Johnson.

So far, neither side has commented on the negotiations taking place. At this point, Spitzer is still under investigation for money laundering and soliciting a prostitute.

According to many sources, Spitzer told his aides that he began soliciting prostitutes for sex eight months ago, but other sources say it could have started as many as 10 years ago. He has spent more than $80,000 on prostitutes, and was caught most recently paying more than $4,000 to have a call girl cross state lines to visit him in a New Jersey hotel room, pictured below.
