Woody Allen is suing a clothing company for $10 million for using an image of him appearing very scantily-clad on billboards across the country and on the Internet. He claims he does not endorse the company, nor did he give them permission to use a photo portraying him nearly naked.

April Fool! Yes, Allen is suing American Apparel for using his image, but he was fully clothed in the image, and I’m sure we’re all very thankful for that!

Allen filed suit Monday and called the Web site displays “especially egregious and damaging,” according to MSNBC.com. In the lawsuit, Allen complains about one ad that shows him dressed as a Hasidic Jew with a beard and black hat. According to him, the ads imply Allen endorses and supports the company, which he does not.

The suit claims “misappropriation” of Allen’s image, which means his image or likeness was used without permission for someone else’s gain.
