Archive for May, 2008Charles Barkley is in big trouble after taking out four $100,000 casino markers, or loads, at the end of last year. He has yet to repay them, and if he doesn’t by June 9, he’ll have a criminal complaint filed against him. Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Al Reyes, 38, was tasered and arrested early April 11 after he tried to pick a fight in a bar. She reads the first chapter, the last chapter and a few chapters in the middle. She likes to read because she likes to know what happens. I am opposite of her. China’s death toll from this weekend’s earthquake topped 19,000 today, and officials fear it could reach more than 50,000. It was the worst earthquake the country has experienced in over three decades, and there are still thousands of people injured and missing. All you have to do to get your fill of violent injuries is go to the movies…there are so many horrific, violent movies out there, I don’t even know where to start this list. From getting heads chopped off to eyeballs plucked out, these movies are sure to leave your spine tingling and your stomach queasy. The biggest risks in soccer include head injuries from crashing into other players or falls, broken legs from being kicked or just from the stress of the turf, and knee injuries from twists, sprains, and kicks. And, as seen below, there’s always that risk of getting kicked somewhere you don’t want to get kicked. What would sports be without cheerleaders? They provide entertainment, rev up the crowd’s excitement, and perform dances to all our favorite songs. However, it’s no wonder why there are so many cheerleading injuries every year. Cheerleaders are launched high into the air, and they ask their bodies to perform amazing feats of strength and flexibility. My worst injury ever was getting kicked by a horse. It was pretty nasty, actually. The horse I was walking behind got spooked, backed up, and kicked me in the chest with both hind legs. The blow threw me backwards, and I thought I had broken my ribs. People file lawsuits because someone has caused them injury, pain, property damage, or more. The law is in place to make sure people are protected from theft, defective products, medical mishaps, and many other types of incidents. However, there are some people who abuse the court system and file suits that are just downright weird, and for the most part, their cases never see the inside of a courtroom because they get thrown out before they get there. Here are a few of them. Everyone suffers from a few most embarrassing moments in their life. Of course, at the time they occur, they aren’t funny at all. But maybe, after years have passed and you have moved thousands of miles away, some of those moments turn into funny stories. Here are a few of those stories (and by the way, all names have been changed…to respect privacy, you know?). |
