I am the best aunt in the world. I don’t even need a t-shirt to tell me so. I have taken my nieces and nephew to see every Harry Potter movie over the years, and I will continue to do so until there are no more. On our most recent trip, which was actually last summer, to see the latest installment in the series, my posse of small children complained that the book was much better than the movie. I looked at each of them and calmly and politely explained to them, that’s what you get for reading. Like a good American, I waited for the movie. Simultaneously they all groaned and complained that I was being ridiculous. I’m a twenty-something and it seems to me that we didn’t have any books like Harry Potter growing up to spark our interest in reading. College wasn’t much help either, the only thing I read in college were textbooks and research papers. Where is MY Harry Potter? Email This Post
