The Açaí Berry has been growing in popularity in North America ever since many celebrities, including Oprah Winfrey, began endorsing it as the miracle weight loss supplement. The Açaí Berry resembles a grape and grows primarily in the Amazon rainforests. It is used in everything from specialty health drinks to ice cream. The main reason it improves a variety of health issues is attributed primarily to the claim that it contains 10 times the antioxidants of grapes.

However, the true benefit of these berries remains to be seen. People claim that Açaí Berries boost your energy, improve mental clarity, fight insomnia, fight cancer, enhance your sexual performance, alleviates diabetes, and the list goes on. Someone has attributed the cure to practically every ailment a human being has ever had to Açaí Berries.

Despite all those benefits, the draw most people have to these berries is the idea that Açaí Berries will support weight loss and improve your physical strength. They are sold all over the Internet with taglines such as “I lost 30 lbs in five days,” or something similar.

Açaí Berries are healthy and they do contain some amount of antioxidants, but there are more scams than legitimate products made from these berries. If you simply search the Internet regarding buying Açaí Berries, you will see that there are many sites that claim to be “unbiased reviews” but in actuality they are trying to sell you their own brand of Açaí derived supplements. In general, if it a sponsored link, it will be biased no matter what the website claims.

Not only are these websites biased, they make unreasonable claims about the other effects Açaí has besides weight loss. There really is not any research to conclude that these berries even have more antioxidants than a regular grape, which would break 90% of the websites claims. If Açaí Berries truly were a legitimate cure for cancer, it would have caught on by now. If it alleviates diabetes, why are people still using insulin?

For people looking to get a leg up on their peers when it comes to weight-loss, Açaí Berries are not the cure all answer. They are healthy, but so are grapes and blueberries. There is no harm in trying Açaí Berries, except that you will most likely be $50 more broke. The Internet is filled with stories about the amazing effects of the berries, but take it all with a handful of salt.
