Medicines that can be deadly to young children include decongestants, expectorants, antihistamines and cough suppressants. The FDA announced that it is reviewing data from anemia drugs that have been linked to rapid tumor growth and shortened survival time in patients with certain types of cancer. The FDA released an Early Communication warning about the smoking cessation drug Chanitx on November 20, 2007. Chantix has been linked to suicidal thoughts, aggressive and erratic behavior, and drowsiness in patients. The FDA is conducting an ongoing safety review and will continue to monitor the drug. |
