The FDA announced the recall of Solodyn yesterday, a drug used to treat inflammatory lesions of non-nodular moderate to severe acne vulgaris in patients 12 years of age and older. California will be the first state to track prescription drugs, which includes attaching a serial number to each prescription bottle and recording how many times it exchanges hands. Neupro, a drug used to treat Parkinson’s disease, was recalled last week because of worries that the active ingredient was being released incorrectly into the patients skin.
