Graduation Cap Injuries

The 100-year-old tradition of tossing graduation caps can be fun for some, but

dangerous for others. There are a few unlucky graduates who’s joyous day turns

into a tearful one. Just picture graduates looking up into that sea of caps with

smiles on their faces, when “whack” one of the spinning mortarboards plows one of them in the face.

Lightning in All its Glory

The ratio of getting struck by lightning and killed is 280,000:1. Most lightning fatalities take place outside, at recreational events like baseball games or on the golf course. If there is a lightning storm immediately seek refuge in either a building, hard topped vehicle, or if no shelter is near, crouch on the balls of your feet as low to the ground as possible in order to create the lowest profile, but dont lay flat on the ground.

To add insult to injury (literally), the man, suffering from bleeding in the brain, ruptured spleen, broken bones, and a dislocated shoulder, was issued a jaywalking ticket by a nearby state trooper. Uh… thanks?

Touting his show’s safety record, the monster truck show promoter told a news reporter, “I wish I had a big piece of wood to knock on right now, but we have not had an incident besides a gal slipping in the aisleway at another location.” Just days later, the promoter, George Eisenhart, stepped out in front of a vehicle during one of his shows and was crushed to death.

If you get into an accident in the middle of a street, it is important you put on your hazard lights and then leave your car if you are unable to move it to the side of the road. Many accidents are caused because of another accident that occurred previously, if you have seen the movie Disturbia, you know what I mean.

When families get together for the holidays and exchange presents, the difficulty of opening the present usually is not considered. However, the term “wrap rage” has become commonly accepted, according to Wikipedia, to describe heightened levels of anger, frustration, and violence resulting from the inability to open hard-to-remove packaging. Wrap rage is something everyone experiences during the holidays, but we have never been able to put a name to it.

There are a lot of funny injury jokes circulating on the Web. Here’s a small sampling of just three.

What’s Your Worst Injury Ever?

My worst injury ever was getting kicked by a horse. It was pretty nasty, actually. The horse I was walking behind got spooked, backed up, and kicked me in the chest with both hind legs. The blow threw me backwards, and I thought I had broken my ribs.

People file lawsuits because someone has caused them injury, pain, property damage, or more. The law is in place to make sure people are protected from theft, defective products, medical mishaps, and many other types of incidents. However, there are some people who abuse the court system and file suits that are just downright weird, and for the most part, their cases never see the inside of a courtroom because they get thrown out before they get there. Here are a few of them.
