There are a lot of funny injury jokes circulating on the Web. Here’s a small sampling of just three. My worst injury ever was getting kicked by a horse. It was pretty nasty, actually. The horse I was walking behind got spooked, backed up, and kicked me in the chest with both hind legs. The blow threw me backwards, and I thought I had broken my ribs. People file lawsuits because someone has caused them injury, pain, property damage, or more. The law is in place to make sure people are protected from theft, defective products, medical mishaps, and many other types of incidents. However, there are some people who abuse the court system and file suits that are just downright weird, and for the most part, their cases never see the inside of a courtroom because they get thrown out before they get there. Studies show that athletes who get injured can suffer from extreme depression, even to the point of killing themselves. Most were still forced to stay away after concerns that the fire and heat might cause an anhydrous ammonia tank to catch fire as well. Death of 6-year-old girl prompts changes in pool safety21 Mar Posted by: Cara in: Adverse Events, Injuries Nine months ago, 6-year-old Abigail Taylor sat on the drain of the Minneapolis Golf Club kiddie pool. The drain was so powerful that it sucked out 21 feet of her small intestine, leaving her near death. There are all kinds of quotes circulating out there about injury. Here’s a short compilation of some good ones. The War of the Worlds was written by H.G. Wells and adapted to be read on the radio in 1938. The story tells a tale about an alien invasion, with very little chance of escape. When the story was adapted for the radio, it was read by broadcasters as if it was a real event; listeners in New Jersey were convinced that it was happening in their state and that the world was about to end. Although getting injured is never a laughing matter considering the pain, medical costs, and possible lost wages, here are a couple of videos that definitely lighten the mood. Enjoy, and remember to be safe on the job! There are millions of drunk driving accidents every year. Last week, I was one of those statistics. A drunk driver smashed into me, and I was scared. |
