The following techniques, although under heavy debate, are still legal in the U.S., and are used on detainees, POWs, and other people the U.S. interrogates. Careful; these photos are very graphic and disturbing. John McCain endured horrific torture during his time as a POW in Vietnam. He was shot down in 1967 while on a bombing mission, and he was captured and held as a prisoner of war. Interestingly, it’s hard to pin down his position on whether the U.S. has the right to torture the people it captures. Like father, like son. Both George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush’s administrations have been caught unnecessarily, and perhaps illegally, accessing other political candidates’ passports. |
