Healthcare professionals were recently warned by Exubera manufacturers, Pfizer, that the insulin might be linked to lung cancer. The short-acting insulin is breathed through the mouth as an inhaler, and it helps control high blood sugar in diabetic patients.

The FDA released an Early Communication warning about the smoking cessation drug Chanitx on November 20, 2007. Chantix has been linked to suicidal thoughts, aggressive and erratic behavior, and drowsiness in patients. The FDA is conducting an ongoing safety review and will continue to monitor the drug.
